Scheduling a professional photo session can be overwhelming if you’ve never done it before. The good news is that you don’t need to do nearly as much as you’re thinking.

Your personal branding photographer is there to do most of the heavy lifting, but there are a few other areas where you can ask for help instead of trying to figure it out yourself.

1. A Location

If you’re feeling stressed about finding the right location, stop. Your photographer can easily help you figure this out. And since this is a personal branding photoshoot, choosing a location isn’t nearly as complicated. Where do you work and where do you spend your spare time? Simply answering these two questions can immediately provide you with a location. And if you still can’t decide, you can always arrange to meet your photographer at their studio.

2. Doing Your Own Hair and Makeup

You want to look and feel your best for your shoot. However, if doing your own hair and makeup is causing you anxiety, know that it’s unnecessary. You can very easily hire a hairstylist and makeup artist to assist you before your shoot. In fact, it’s highly recommended as it allows you to relax and have some fun on the day of your session. 3. Knowing How to Look Good in Photos

Not everyone loves having their photo taken, especially by a professional they barely know. The good news is that your photographer is there to guide you. You don’t need to spend hours in front of a mirror and on Pinterest trying to figure out how to pose. If it makes you feel more comfortable, you can practice your smile and a few facial expressions prior to your shoot, but it’s your photographer’s job to make you look good, so trust them. Taking the time to find a photographer you connect with also helps.

The Things You Do Need for a Personal Branding Shoot

Now that you know what you don’t need to worry about, you can focus on a few aspects that will give you a more positive experience in front of the camera:

– Decide what you want to communicate to your audience through your photos.

– Decide how you want to use your images.

– Pick an outfit that makes you feel great.

– Find ways to incorporate your brand colors into your session.

– Collect any props you might like to use for your session.
